Description
The Riding is a house from the mid-18th century that was extended at the rear in the early 19th century. It is built of squared stone with cut quoins and tooled dressings, topped with a slate roof. The house has two storeys and three slightly irregular bays. The right-of-centre door has been renewed and is set in an architrave with a moulded hood supported by scrolled consoles. The windows are 12-pane sashes with wedge lintels and slightly projecting sills. The roof features a coped gable with moulded kneelers and stepped stone end stacks. To the right, there is a one-storey, one-bay extension, likely from the late 18th century, which has a part-slatted window with external bars and a coped gable with moulded kneelers.
