Description

The water pump at the rear of Stainton Grange is a hand-operated water pump from the mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and stands 1.5 meters high with a cylindrical stem that features a curved-down spout, necking bands, and a small relief of a rampant lion. The pump has a wider, fluted head and a curved side handle. At the top, there is an enriched domed cap with a spike finial. There is no trough associated with the pump.
