Description
Nos 35 and 36 Blackwellgate is a three-storey building from the early 19th century, featuring a four-window facade made of pinkish brick. The roof has been replaced with modern ridged tiles. The building has gauged flat brick arches above sash windows, which are framed with flush wood architraves; the upper windows still have their original glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is one replaced sash window and a slightly altered early to mid-19th century shop front. This shop front includes an entablature that rests on pilasters and is broken forward over a central square bay window, which is flanked by half-glazed doors and an oblong fanlight. There is also a yard entrance on the right side. Additionally, there is an 18th-century rear wing attached to No 35.
