Description

This is a cross shaft fragment located about 5 metres south-west of the Church of St John the Baptist. It is likely from the late 11th century and is made of sandstone. The fragment stands 1.5 metres high and has a tapering, rectangular shape, featuring a badly worn interlace design. It is possible that the shaft is in its original position, although no socket stone is visible.
