Description
Manor House Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse located in Low Dinsdale. The front is made of narrow brick in header bond, while the other sides feature an irregular bond. It has a renewed pantiled roof with old brick chimney stacks and is designed with a double span. The building stands two storeys high and consists of three bays. Notable architectural features include raised-and-chamfered sandstone quoins, a central partly-glazed six-panel door with a fanlight that has radial glazing, all set within a narrow reeded frame.
To the left, there is a wide early 19th-century bow window with three twelve-pane sashes, framed by fluted pilasters. An identical bow window was added to the right side around 1970. Above these, there are three twelve-pane sashes with projecting stone sills. The eaves are cogged brick, and the steeply-pitched two-span roof features stone-coped gables and shaped kneelers, with end stacks that have top bands on both spans. At the rear, there is a central round-arched twelve-pane stair window with intersecting tracery in the head. An altered farm building at the right rear is not of special interest.
