Description

This is a trackside sign dating from 1937, created for the London North Eastern Railway. It features white-painted, sheet-steel lettering in the Gill Sans font, which is mounted on a framework of black-painted box-section steel beams. The sign displays the text: "ROUTE OF STOCKTON & DARLINGTON RAILWAY 1825."
