Description
No. 5 Church Street is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is built of English bond brick with a rubble plinth and painted ashlar dressings. The roof is not visible, and there is a brick chimney at the right end. The building has three storeys and two bays.
The entrance features a six-panel door with a patterned overlight to the right, set within an open-pedimented doorcase. On the ground floor, there is a wide three-light window with mullions and transoms, while the upper floors have cross windows, all of which are topped with wedge stone lintels and have projecting stone sills. Additionally, there is a boot-scraper beside the door, set in an ashlar panel.
