Description

FRAMWELLGATE MOOR PIT LANE NZ 24 NE (North side, off) 2/25 Wall with bee boles and privy adjoining Viewly Grange farmhouse on north GV II

Garden wall with bee-boles and earth-closet. Early C19. Sandstone rubble with large quoins and ashlar dressings; earth-closet has pantiled roof. L-plan. High wall continues line of house and returns along boundary of garden. Former earth closet is at end furthest from house. Flat stone lintels over boarded door in same plane as house and similar door to earth closet. Thin stones form row of 5 rectangular bee-boles, now blocked and with some sill stones removed, with large block at foot of each outer jamb, in centre of long wall. Pent roof behind wall over earth-closet, now with fittings removed.
