Description

This group of three medieval grave slabs is located 15 meters north-west of the entry to St. Michael's churchyard in Barningham. They are made of cut sandstone. The northern slab features a worn relief carving of a cross, with a falcon on a gloved hand above the shaft, a sword and shield on the left, and two animals, which may be hunting dogs or the bears of the de Barningham family, flanking the stepped base. The southern slab also has a worn relief-carved cross. The central tapered stone has lost any design that may have been present.
