Description
The farm buildings attached to High Burnlea farmhouse are likely from the late 18th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble with quoins and feature pantiled roofs. A long barn is connected to the right side of the house, with two long ranges extending from the barn, creating a fold yard that is enclosed by a wall that continues with the front gables of the projecting ranges. The two-storey barn has a Dutch door in the bay next to the house. To the right of this door, the projecting range includes another door, a long blank wall, and a small square light on the outer return. The front gables of the projections are mostly blank, except for one small opening on the right. The fold yard wall has a 20th-century double boarded vehicle door and a high small square opening. The roof over the fold yard is from the 20th century and is not of interest.
Additionally, the barn has a small pent extension on the right with a pantiled roof. The first bay of the barn is occupied by a tenant of the farmhouse. The interior has not been inspected. These buildings are included for their group value with the farmhouse.
