Description
The Middle Level Lead Mine water race, steps, and retaining wall at the dressing floor were built around 1868 for the Blackett-Beaumont Lead Mining Company. The structure features coursed squared sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The main wall is approximately 4 metres high and 12 metres long, with a flight of stone steps recessed into the bank at the left end. An elliptical arch with voussoirs spans the water race. Additionally, the retaining walls, which are about 1.5 metres high and 10 metres long, contain the water race.
