Description
Eastgate Mill is a water mill that has been converted into a house, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a stone-flagged roof. The building is one storey high with five bays on the east side and two storeys on the west side, which faces the river. The east elevation includes a battened door in the first bay and a plain boarded door in the fourth bay, both set within plain stone surrounds. There are small square windows, with renewed glazing, positioned between the doors. The mill has a small square ridge chimney at the left end, a low stack just below the ridge at the centre, and a taller chimney at the left front.
