Description
Little Redgate Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed and squared sandstone, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The roofs are pantiled, with stone gable copings and chimneys made of yellow and red brick. The building consists of four sections, including a two-storey, two-bay main house, lower two-storey one-bay wings, and a one-storey, one-bay extension on the left.
The main house has a boarded door on the right, which is set under a flat stone lintel. The first bay features sashes with vertical glazing bars, and the first-floor window is framed in a raised stone surround, although ivy obscures the surround of the lower window. The left wing has a four-panel door under a wooden lintel on the right, with sashes that have glazing bars, flat stone lintels, and projecting stone sills. There is a similar window in the left end bay. The right wing has a similar window on the first floor and a smaller window below it. The main house has a steeply-pitched roof with slightly swept eaves, and the gables display reverse crow steps. The yellow chimneys are located at the left end of the main house and the left wing, while a red chimney is found at the right of the right wing.
