Description

Church House is a 17th-century house with alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of irregular, coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and quoins. The roof is covered in Welsh slate with stone gable copings on curved kneelers, and brick chimneys. The north front, which faces the garden, has two storeys and three windows. The ground floor windows have an irregular arrangement with late 19th-century and plain sash windows beneath flat stone lintels. The first-floor sash windows are 12-pane and have flat stone lintels and sills. The roof has been lowered, but the gables remain at their original height, and there are end chimneys. A full-width outshut on the south front, with a catslide roof, is marked by large quoins. Inside, there are massive chamfered beams, broadly spaced. There is a square newel staircase with a flat handrail on stick balusters, located within the outshut.
