Description

This building, located at 9 High Street, is a house dating from the mid-18th century with 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of roughcast brick and rubble, featuring a ridged concrete tile roof at the front and Welsh slates at the rear. The chimney stacks have been rebuilt. The house is two stories high with a two-bay main block, and there is an added set-back right bay above a wide passageway. The entrance includes a 19th-century panelled door with a three-pane overlight that connects to No. 8. The windows are boxed 16-pane sashes. There is a band between the storeys and stepped eaves courses, along with a steeply-pitched roof that has swept eaves and stacks at the left end and ridge. Late 19th-century rear additions are present but are not of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
