Description
24 and 25 Market Place are two houses that have been converted into a restaurant. They date from the late 17th century and have undergone some alterations. The exterior features painted rough render with a plinth and ashlar dressings. The roof is made of synthetic imitation Welsh slate and has stone gable coping and rendered chimneys. The building is three storeys high and has two windows on the front. There is a central part-glazed door flanked by three-light windows, all with painted stone surrounds and projecting sills, with the jambs shared by the door and windows. The first floor has three-light windows, while the second floor features smaller two-light windows, all with painted surrounds that are visible from the render. The glazing has been renewed. The steeply pitched roof has left gable coping on a moulded kneeler and end chimneys. The left side of the building has a lower rear extension with a vehicle door on the left, a small door in the center of the outshut, and a small window in the gable of the main house on the right. There is a large renewed light above the central door, a small light to the left of the gable, and a balcony above a tall opening on the top floor.
