Description

The Mews at Sherburn Hospital is an early 19th-century coach house and stable, converted into two dwellings around 1983. Constructed of dressed sandstone with Welsh slate roofs, the building has a 3-bay centre flanked by single-storey wings; the left wing is 3 bays, and the right wing is 4 bays. The openings feature renewed flush stone lintels and projecting sills. Replaced doors are situated in the left bay of the centre block (No. 1) and the right wing (No. 2), and the windows are replaced sashes. The left wing incorporates two semicircular coach arches with replaced double doors. The building has low-pitched hipped roofs with truncated ridge stacks. It is included on the list for its group value.
