Description
Nos. 5 and 7 Market Place is a house that has been converted into two shops and flats. It likely dates from the 19th century, with shop fronts added around 1920. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a roof made of stone slates with stone gable copings and chimneys. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The shop fronts, which date to around 1920, are separated by a stone pier and have a continuous plain fascia. Above the shops, there are plain sash windows with flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. The eaves gutter is supported by stone corbels, and the roof features end stone chimneys. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
