Description
This is a small barn located to the north-west of a former inn, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed, flat sandstone rubble and features a stone-flagged roof with ridge tiles. The barn has a single low storey.
On the south front, there is a Dutch door on the left and a boarded door on the right, both set under stone lintels. Between these doors is a small window with a segmental brick arch, which is partly glazed and includes cast iron movable vent panels. This window is cast in relief and is marked as a DESIDERATUM PATENT GRANARY WINDOW, made by Tomlinson & Walker of York. The barn has a rounded north-east corner and a small fixed light at the rear.
This building is included for its group value with the former inn.
