Description
Dun Cow Cottage is an early 18th-century house located on Dun Cow Lane. It features painted incised stucco with painted ashlar dressings and a roof made of pantiles, with three rows of stone slates at the eaves and brick chimneys. The cottage has two storeys and attics, with two windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a four-paned overlight, sheltered by a 20th-century hood supported by wrought iron brackets. The renewed sash windows have wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills, and there are louvred external shutters on the ground floor. The cottage also has bombé bow iron balconies on segmental-headed half-dormers and tall end brick chimneys, one of which has been raised in newer brick. The building is included for its group value.
