Description
The Shelter Shed at Great Tre-Rhew is a 4-bay and attached 7-bay structure that forms an 11-bay linear range, measuring approximately 40 meters in length and angled at the northeast end. It features a gently pitched slate roof with a tile ridge. The southwest bay of the 4-bay shelter shed is enclosed by 20th-century blockwork. The timber wall-plate is supported by circular tapering rubble columns, although one of the columns is partly collapsed. The rear elevation is blind, but a straight joint next to the stone partition wall indicates that the building was constructed in two stages. The trusses have long raking collars bolted onto the principal rafters, with one row of purlins.
