Description
Croes-bleddyn Cottages are a pair of one-and-a-half storey cottages built in the 18th century, constructed from random limestone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. Designed in the Cotswold style typical of Dawber, the cottages are mirrored in appearance. Each cottage features doors flanking projecting gabled bays, with a 3-light window on each floor. The windows have 8 panes flanking 16 below, and 6 + 6 + 6 above. Although the windows are replacement plastic units set in elliptical stone heads, they resemble the original design, though the details differ between the two houses. The gables of the cottages meet at the center, where a downpipe and a tall stack are located behind. The rear elevation has undergone some changes, but both houses retain an attic dormer and the original tall kitchen stacks. There is also a small single storey extension. The cottages were not seen during the time of resurvey.
