Description

Old Bank House is a late Georgian villa that has undergone some Victorian alterations. The building is finished in stucco render and paint, topped with a shallow-pitched hipped slate roof featuring overhanging eaves and a bracketed cornice. It stands two storeys tall and has a three-window range of sash windows with narrow glazing bars and shallow sills on the first floor.

The central entrance is a round-arched doorway with panelled reveals, leading to a recessed part-glazed six-panelled door topped by a fanlight with radial glazing. This doorway is framed by a later gabled surround with fluted columns that have elaborate enriched capitals. To the right, there is a later large bay window with a hipped slate roof and full-length windows, along with narrow recessed blind panels.

At the left side, a high part-rendered rubble stone wall extends forward and connects with iron railings that feature leaf and urn finials on a stone kerb, set between piers adorned with vermiculated panels. The property is accessed through double gates.
