Description
The Wye Valley Millhouse is a tall, rendered house, likely built over a local rubble stone base, with a concrete tile roof. It dates presumably from the 18th century, and comprises a main three-storey block with a two-storey service wing projecting to the rear. The front elevation has three bays; the central bay contains a plain entrance door, while the left bay features a six-over-six pane sash window with an elliptical head. A mid-20th century steel-framed French casement window with side windows is on the right. The first floor has three six-over-six pane sash windows, and the second floor has three three-over-six pane sash windows. The roof is low-pitched with tall end stacks. The rear wing largely features 20th-century details. The rear elevation was not visible during inspection. Nearby are the remains of a paper mill constructed of squared rubble with brick-framed openings. The interior was not available for inspection.
