Description
The Cider House and Cowhouse at The Great House is a single-storey building constructed in a linear range. It is made of rubble stone and features a corrugated metal roof. The front faces the farmyard, with the farmhouse attached to the right. The facade includes, from left to right, a blocked entrance doorway, a broad 20th-century cartshed entry with metal doors, a square window with a timber lintel and internal boarded shutters, and a boarded door.
Inside, the building has a five-bay layout with queen post roof trusses and two tiers of purlins. The former cowhouse, located at the downhill end, is separated from the Cider House by a transverse post and panel partition. The cider mill is well-preserved and includes a circular stone trough, a drive shaft, and a stone mill wheel.
