Description
The west wall of the churchyard of the Church of St Illtyd dates from the 17th century and is constructed of random rubble stone, featuring squared dressed stone for the gatepiers. Notably, it incorporates the gravestone of Aaron Morris, who died in 1680. The wall and piers have a flat stone coping, and the square piers are topped with roughly rounded boulders. There are 20th-century double wrought iron gates. The wall measures approximately 30 meters in length and includes an iron Victorian letterbox built into the far end, away from the gate. The inscription on the grave slab facing the road reads: "HERE LIETH THE BODY OF ARON MORIS DECEASED THE 25 MAY 1680," with the Prince of Wales feathers inscribed below.
