Description
Berthlwyd is a farmhouse featuring a long front range, rendered with 20th-century uPVC windows and imitation slates. It has three chimneys and an added crosswing to the left. The layout includes one bay between the crosswing and the first chimney, two bays between the first and second chimneys, and one bay between the end chimneys. There is a lower outbuilding to the right. The first bay of the main house has a 20th-century porch in the angle that obscures a ground floor window. The crosswing has a painted rubble stone front with a later 19th-century paired window on each floor to the left, featuring stone surrounds and 20th-century glazing. The rendered end gable has a chimney.
To the left of the crosswing, there is a cowshed and barn with an asbestos sheet roof. The rear center of the house has a lean-to that was formerly a dairy. The outbuilding on the right also has an asbestos sheet roof, with outside steps on the left leading to a loft door below the sill. The door head breaks the eaves. On the ground floor to the right, there is a small square window with a stone shelf above and a stable door with two stubs of timber above for a presumed pent roof. There is a straight joint to the right and an added section with a small loft window and a second stable door with an iron lintel. Outside steps are present on the end wall.
The interior is not accessible, but it is said to retain 17th-century beams.
