Description
The former Welsh Presbyterian Chapel is an early 19th-century building designed in the Early French Gothic style. It features a T-shaped plan with vestibules and staircases positioned at the angles between the arms of the "T". The exterior is constructed from dark rock-faced stone, accented with pale ashlar dressings. Each wing of the "T" has a gabled front facing the street, flanked by angle buttresses made of dark faceted stone, which rise in the upper stages to form octagonal buttresses topped with pinnacles. At the apex of the gable, there is a plain triple opening, while below it are two large three-light windows with hexafoils above, and a group of four windows beneath these. Lateral lights lead up to the entrances of the vestibules and staircase towers, which have rounded ends and feature stepped small lancet windows facing the street, along with a continuous glazed panel, transomed and mullioned above, and a peaked slate roof. The side windows, which are not intended to be easily visible, have red brick dressings.
The interior has been converted for use as architects' offices, showcasing red brick walls with cream and black diaper work, along with timber roofs.
