Description

The garden wall of The Deanery is made of stone rubble and surrounds the garden at the rear of the property. The lower section of the wall at the front of the house is interrupted by gate piers made of blue/grey stone, which flank the path leading to the house and the vehicular entry at the south-east end. On the north-west side, the wall runs alongside the Dean's Steps, which lead down to the Cathedral. At the bottom of the slope, part of the wall is constructed from river pebbles, which may indicate it is the oldest section of the wall.
