Description
The garden wall and gatepiers of Cathedral Court are a Grade II listed structure. From the southwest corner of the house, a low wall made of polychromatic rubble curves southeastwards. The downhill section of the wall runs along the north side of the steps leading down to the Cathedral, known as Dean's Steps. This part of the wall is constructed from stone rubble and features rough rubble coping. The wall then turns a corner and extends northeast and northwest, originally enclosing woods to the northeast of Cathedral Court, though it is now in a dilapidated state northwest of the corner opposite the Prebendal House. Additionally, there is a pair of gatepiers made from coursed pennant stone, topped with pyramid caps. The left gatepier bears the inscription "Llys Esgob."
