Description

The Old Registry is a house constructed with roughly dressed grey and red Radyr stone, featuring ashlar dressings. It dates to the 18th century and has an architectural character similar to the adjoining Probate Registry. The house is gabled, with a Welsh slate roof, coping, and end stacks designed in a medieval style, alongside a stepped external chimney. It is a tall house of one storey and an attic, with two bays. A three-light bay window with a slate lean-to roof and four-over-four pane sash windows is located on the ground floor to the right. The slate roof extends northwards as a verandah over the centre doorway and a two-light window at the north-west end. An interesting door is present. Upper windows project slightly into the roof space and are trefoil headed with a central colonette and gables, featuring bands, coping, and small quatrefoil vents. The left return gable features two small windows. The rear elevation is not visible. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
