Description

The Statue of John Cory, created by Goscombe John, was erected in 1906 as a tribute from his friends and fellow citizens to honor his global sympathies. The statue is made of bronze and depicts a standing figure with its weight on the left leg and the right leg inclined forward. The figure is dressed in a suit and an open great coat, holding a hat in the left hand and a book or paper in the right hand. It stands on a tall stone plinth designed in a Classical style.
