Description
The Unicorn Inn is a village inn that consists of two sections, with the older wing on the right closest to the churchyard, and a left wing that likely dates from the late 19th century. The right wing is constructed of whitewashed stone rubble, topped with a concrete tile roof and a renewed brick chimney. The left wing features rustic style masonry with painted brick details and a Welsh slate roof, complete with an end chimney. The building is two storeys high.
In the right wing, there is a small two-light casement window under the eaves, and on the ground floor, a slightly larger two-light casement window is present, along with a 20th-century lean-to porch to the left. The gable end on the right is integrated into the churchyard wall. The left wing has higher eaves and features a segmental headed tripartite window on the ground floor, while the first floor has a three-light window with a black and white half-timbered gable above it. Attached to the left is a single-storey, L-shaped wing with a hipped roof made of painted stone. The rear elevation includes a cross-wing with a wide gable.
Inside the older unit, there is an open fireplace with stairs beside it, which has been partly remodelled. The interior also features chamfered and stopped cross beams, along with remnants of a curved stone staircase.
