Description
The east boundary wall and gatepiers of Howells School are designed in a Gothic style and date from the period of the school's construction. The entrance to the school grounds is marked by piers made of ashlar stone, topped with gabled coping. On either side of these piers, there are low stone walls that form curved wings, also featuring ashlar coping with small gablets. The piers at the ends of these wings are similar in design to those at the entrance. The boundary wall extends north for approximately 100 meters, constructed from uncoursed rock-faced blue lias stone, and is topped with stepped coping from the Forest of Dean.
