Description
The bridge to the north extension of the graveyard of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul is a Grade II listed structure built from neat ashlar in a medieval gothic style. It features a low pointed arch, although this arch and the lower courses of the stonework are now mostly hidden due to the filling in of the mill-stream following the opening of Western Avenue in 1932. The top voussoirs of the arch are still visible, along with the parapet walls that have trefoil-headed niches at the apex. The bridge has moulded stone coping, while the internal faces of the parapets are made of rubble, and the roadway is paved with pitched stone.
