Description
Llwyn Rhyddid is a two-storey building with limewashed rubble walls and a hipped, slated roof topped by a large, rendered axial chimneystack with modern pots. The front elevation is asymmetrical and features five first-floor windows, which include four over eight sashes without horns. The original entrance doorway is located on the right side, offset by one bay, with a second modern doorway at the extreme left. The ground floor has three sash windows, two of which are original eight over eight sashes without horns, while the third is a later replacement.
The rear elevation displays an orderly but asymmetric arrangement of various sash window types in original openings, all topped with simple gauged brick arches. There are four doorways at the rear, one of which is blocked. Two of these doorways appear to be original, while the others seem to have been created from earlier window openings.
Inside, the ground floor consists of three reception rooms with front-facing windows, along with an original kitchen at the southern end, which is said to retain a blocked-in range. All rooms feature original raised and fielded six-panel doors and door-cases, with flagged floors throughout. The original staircase, dating from the early 19th century, is a canted dog-leg design with a reeded newel post and cannon-shaped balusters. The hallway boasts a substantial reeded cornice.
