Description
The gate and gatepiers beside South Lodge at Coedarhydyglyn date from the 19th century. The single wrought-iron gate features tall dog-bars and latticework above, topped with an inverted segmental arch that has scrolled spandrel ornament. The fluted cast-iron gate-piers have capitals and ball caps, and there is a complex closing mechanism. Additionally, there is a pedestrian gate on the north side. This gate is more ornamental than the gate located midway along the southern drive.
