Description
The limekiln located southeast of Maes-Gwyn Lock on the Neath Canal is constructed from rubble stone. It features a charging bank that is level with the nearby lock platform on the northwest side. On the southwest side, there is one large kiln-eye, which has a segmental arch made of dressed stone voussoirs, along with small rectangular vents on each side. There is a straight joint to the southeast of the arch, with stone rubble walling in front. At the time of the last survey in September 2003, the site was overgrown.
