Description
The gateway and quadrant walls leading to Twyn yr Hydd are built from rusticated ashlar stone. The gate piers feature moulded cap stones topped with ball finials on pedestals, set on plinths with a moulded top edge. The internal sides have jambs. The double cast iron gates have top rails that sweep down, adorned with scroll work below and raised scrolls in the centre and towards the ends. The uprights are finished with pointed finials, and there is a lock bar with additional uprights that rise to form scrolls. Low dog rails are topped with chevroned finials. Curved quadrant wings made of snecked rock-faced stone with saddleback coping flank the piers. Square end piers have flat capstones with moulded undersides. The park boundary wall extends from this point, constructed of random rubble and topped with rough saddleback coping.
