Description

Oak House is a two-storey building featuring a six-window front. The left section is constructed of rubble and is whitewashed. It has a very broad hipped slate roof, with the rear slope covered in artificial slates. There are tall brick chimneys at each end. The left section has three windows with flat heads, cut stone voussoirs, and shallow stone sills. There is a central doorway in this section, which was once broader, leading to a boarded door. The windows in this section are 16-pane hornless sashes, although the ground floor window to the right is covered over.

The right section also has three windows with flat heads and stone voussoirs, but the sills are generally deeper. This section features modern glazing and a former doorway in the center on the ground floor. There is a doorway on the right-hand return, along with an extension towards the rear. At the time of inspection, the rear of the property, which was formerly built into a steep bank, was under renovation.

The right-hand section has been largely modernized but retains six-panelled doors. The left-hand section is semi-derelict, containing two rooms with wooden stairs to the rear, a partly removed partition to the right with a six-panelled door, and a 19th-century fireplace in the room to the left.
