Description
Pantglas Bridge is a single-arch bridge constructed of rubble. It features a broad segmental arch made of stone voussoirs. The bridge has a low parapet with cemented coping, and the parapets are skewed out at the ends. The northeast corner of the parapet includes an angled skewed section that is roughly corbelled out over the abutment, which is a later addition; a visible joint separates this from the arch. The southeast abutment is also a later addition and is slightly stepped out from the arch, curving back to form a retaining wall for the road. The west side of the bridge shows evidence of widening, with the arched opening set within a segmental arch that also has stone voussoirs. Additionally, the southwest corner of the parapet is skewed out over an iron lintel.
