Description
The barn at Blaenant is a 6-bay structure that is attached to a cowbyre on the right. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof that extends to create a porch hood supported by timber brackets. The barn has opposing double plank doors and unusually long ventilation slits on the sides. There is a doorway located in the gable end facing the farmyard, with two ventilation slits above it and one in the apex, as well as a pitching door in the right gable end.
Built into a slope, the barn has a distinctive sloping floor that falls away to the left. The ventilation slits are topped with wooden lintels, and there are piers supporting the double doors. The roof is made of pegged collar and tie beam trusses, featuring three rows of staggered trenched purlins.
