Description
20 High Street Inferior is a three-storey building from the early 19th century, featuring a north front with two windows. It has a pyramidal slate roof and tall rendered chimneys on either side. The upper two floors are covered in stucco, with a decorative band between them. The sash windows on the first and second floors have glazing bars, with the second floor having 6-pane sashes and the first floor having 12-pane sashes. The building boasts a well-preserved early 19th-century shop front, which includes a central doorway flanked by windows, all bordered by pilasters with elliptical fields, along with a fascia board and cornice.
The south-west elevation, which faces No 30 High Street Superior, has two windows. The upper floor features two smaller windows positioned at the eaves, while the first floor includes one 4-pane sash and another sash with 8 panes. The ground floor mirrors the front shopfront with two 19th-century shop windows that have cornices, fluted pilasters, and decorative paterae.
Inside, there are ovolo moulded beams in the rear area and an early 19th-century fireplace on the first floor.
