Description
The Vaughan monument is located in the churchyard on the south side of the Church of St Michael. It is a tall square pillar made of ashlar stone, which slightly flares at the base. The monument features a very heavy tiered cornice topped with an urn, and it stands on a moulded stone plinth. The pillar is surrounded by a rectangular enclosure of metal railings with spear finials. There are inscriptions on all four sides of the monument, with the earliest inscription located on the south side.
