Description
The former coach-house and stables at Pentre Court are mid-19th century outbuildings associated with the largely late-Georgian house. The coach-house is located at the east end, next to the western drive entrance, while the stables are slightly set back and stepped down to the west, with further steps down at the far west end. The buildings are constructed of rubble with slate roofs and freestone dressings on the coach-house.
The coach-house features a gable-ended design with wave-pattern bargeboards, a stone chimney-stack at the road end, and a central louvred ventilator. Both gable ends have distinctively shouldered openings; the one facing the road is boarded up, while the one facing the drive retains a half-glazed loft door above an offset, cambered carriage arch with voussoirs. Inside, there is a dividing rubble wall between the drive and the partly altered stables, with the kitchen garden located to the south. The buildings are included for their group value with Pentre Court.
