Description
The limekilns at Auckland House are a long structure built into the bank alongside a canal. They are constructed from rubble and feature a continuous stringcourse above the drawing-arches. The drawing-arches are paired and have round-arched heads made with stone voussoirs. To the left, there are two pairs of drawing-arches, and to the right, there is a round-arched doorway that leads to a dog-leg stone stair, which provides access to the loading stage. Next to this doorway is another pair of drawing-arches. The limekilns have stone vaults, some of which are obscured by spoil, and they are supported by deep retaining side walls. The top stage of the structure is heavily overgrown.
