Description
The gravestone of Robert Thompson Crawshay is a large single slab made of pink conglomerate stone, measuring approximately 1.8 meters by 3 meters and weighing around 30 tons. It features raised bronze letters that read:
ROBERT THOMPSON CRAWSHAY
DIED MAY 10TH 1879
AGED 62 YEARS
GOD FORGIVE ME
The gravestone is surrounded by a coping of pink conglomerate stone, which is topped with fine cast-iron railings. These railings have both top and bottom horizontal rails, square section uprights with spearheads, and cast-iron columns at the corners that support urns on short round pedestals.
