Description
Dryslwyn-fawr Farmhouse is a symmetrical three-window farmhouse with three storeys, built in the 18th century. To the left, there is a later two-storey extension with two windows and a roof that is slightly lower than the main building. A single-storey brick range extends forward into the yard from this left-hand extension. The front of the farmhouse is rendered, while the side and rear elevations are made of uncoursed rubble. The roofs are slate with a tile ridge, featuring a rendered end chimney on the original part and another rendered end chimney on the additional unit. At the rear, there are several large extensions with catslide roofs and modern rooflights.
An open porch at the front has timber posts and a dentilled beam, along with an apron of coloured glass. The original part features four-pane horned sash windows, while the additional unit has twelve-pane sash windows, including two at the rear in brick-lined openings. The front door of the additional part is boarded and has a transom with a two-pane overlight.
Inside, the original part has a central entrance that leads to a hallway with stairs at the rear, which have turned balusters. Although the position of the stairs has been altered, the date 1786 is carved on a beam above them.
