Description
Glanrhydw is a double-depth, three-storey, five-bay Georgian house built of rubble stone, which was originally stuccoed and later roughcast. It features a two-span hipped roof with wide bracketed eaves and roughcast chimney stacks. The front elevation faces east and has a replaced front door with an overlight. The lower and middle storeys contain late 19th-century two-pane horned sash windows in their original openings. The upper storey has small three-pane windows, with the central one being pivoting, also in original openings.
On the left end wall, there is a doorway to the left of centre, with a portico that has been partly removed following the removal of a conservatory shown on the 1888 Ordnance Survey map. To the right of this doorway is a twelve-pane hornless sash window, along with another inserted window further to the right. In the middle storey, there is an inserted glazed door to the left of centre, and in the upper storey, there are two four-pane sash windows. At the rear, the house features four-pane horned sash windows and a bridge leading to a detached wing that is combined with service buildings. Set back in the right end wall is a lower two-storey wing with an entrance facing the rear courtyard.
