Description
The former stables at Upland is a 2-storey, 3-bay stable block built of rendered stone, featuring exposed brick window heads and a slate roof with a brick stack on the right side. Beneath the eaves, there is a continuous row of pigeon holes and a stone ledge. The central bay is wider and set forward under a pediment, showcasing Venetian windows on both storeys with replaced glazing, along with a blind oculus in the pediment. The left-hand bay has openings under flat arches, which include a boarded door and a 6-pane window above. The right-hand bay features a similar upper-storey window and, slightly offset to the right of centre, a round-headed window with replaced glazing.
On the left gable end, there is a replaced window at the lower right, along with external stone steps leading to a boarded loft door. The brick gables are equipped with ledges and pigeon holes.
Inside, the stables retain a fine set of stalls with arched entrances and wooden partitions.
